Why crypto, and why YoloPros
In late 2017 the leaders of a company called PayDiamond asked me to train their top qualifiers in Dubai, and then to run the whole event. I booked the hall at the Holiday Inn Bur Dubai, opposite BurJuman, and on 2 December 2017 I trained more than 500 people for a full day and hosted the award ceremony in the afternoon. Standing on that stage, I noticed that many of the people I was training were earning far more from crypto-related projects than I was. Trévo had closed, the project I was working on was not paying much, and it felt strange to be teaching people I should perhaps have been learning from.
So I decided to study cryptocurrency properly. I booked a smaller hall at the same hotel at my own cost, invited leaders I knew, and for three weeks we studied the history of money, blockchain, Bitcoin mining, trading, coin offerings (ICOs) and the projects on the market. My conclusion was clear. Trading was close to gambling: some coins disappear overnight, and most small traders lose money. ICOs were high-risk bets for big investors. For ordinary families, the sensible door into the digital economy was selling something of real value and simply being paid in the new currency.
We shortlisted four projects. The group split into two teams, and some chose a different project. I chose YoloPros because it was not a cryptocurrency project. It sold more than 80 online educational products, and its compensation plan paid out 100% of product sales to members, with no profit share kept by the founders. Commissions were paid instantly in Bitcoin into an Uphold wallet. I set up Crypto Currency Champions — Online Virtual Group with its own website, wrote a 109-slide seminar called “Everything About Crypto”, and recorded walkthroughs of the YoloPros back office so every new member could follow along.
